Here's What I Do

From the simple, everyday tools, to delving into the Admin console and looking for small tweaks, my knowledge as a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Hāpara Champion Trainer will help give you and your team the confidence that you’re getting the most out of these tools.

Here's What I Do

First and foremost, I am an educator. I am passionate about teaching and learning, both with young people and adults. It is my belief that everyone can learn to use technology better in their life, no matter their age or stage. I have experience providing technical training to children, grandparents, and everywhere in between!

What’s my style

My philosophy is one of being a ‘lifelong learner’, and with the nature of technology being everchanging, there is always an update or a new feature that people will want to know about. I believe in tailoring training to individuals and groups, based on their specific needs, and I endeavour to ensure that there is always a practical take-away that people can put into practice in their space.
I have been involved in education, as well as a range of training and facilitation in sports and the aquatics industry since 2013. I trained as a primary school teacher and taught in classes ranging from juniors all the way to high school. I have spent the last 2 years providing specialist technology training in a variety of schools across New Zealand. I am passionate about incorporating technology into classroom practice, and believe that the tech should be the easiest part!
Family and faith are central parts of my life – this is what grounds me and makes me who I am. I am also mad about music and sports! Football is one of my passions! I started refereeing from the age of 15, and have been fortunate to referee up to what would be considered semi-professional football in NZ. In addition to running around, I am also a Referee Assessor and Instructor. My team is Manchester United! #GGMU
I live in Auckland with my wife, Chloe, who is also a teacher, and our daughter, Millie-Rose who was born in 2020 just before the craziness (thankfully!) that was to come!
Our team here at UTB is full of crazy-talented people, all with a passion for tech and education. We’re all here for the same reason, which is to help you feel empowered to use tech as best you can in your context!
